Odio Records are back with their 4th compilation from their Issue series. The newest instalment is jam-packed with 18 different tracks from an assortment of artists from the underground side of the Dubstep movement. We’re not overly picky with the music we listen to, as long as it’s well-made, thought out and has some vibe or theme we can get behind. The problem with the compilation is that every track is just so damn good. We’ve singled out Guillotine’s, ‘Do It To ‘Em’ as we’ve featured some of his work before and enjoyed hearing the progression he’s made over the past year or so in both soundscape and theme. The track was inspired by rave synths and melodies, namely MUST DIE’s, ‘Chaos’. Guillotine was attempting to mix the sounds together in a way that has soft subtle character in the intro that goes into a harder, grittier drop surrounded with distorted heaviness. Lots of this experimentation was inspired by Neurofunk in Drum & Bass and the only rule to making the track was to not take it too seriously so that it provided this fun but juxtaposed vibe.
